Approximately every 3 months or 5,000 km, whichever comes first. If Philo last changed your oil,
check the top left of your windshield. Our sticker will be there with the recommended date
(month/year) and mileage for your next engine oil change.

Ideally, you should schedule a check-up with Philo Auto so we can ensure your vehicle is ready
to transport you safely and reliably. However, if you don’t have time for that, be sure to check
your tires, fluids and air filters.

Tires:
– Check the tire pressure (refer to your car manual for the appropriate pressure; 32 psi is a
good default).
– check the tire treads for excessive or uneven wear, and make sure that the tire wear bars
between the tire treads have not been reached.
– Check your spare tire and ensure you have a jack and lug wrench.
– See our video section below for how to check tire pressure and tread.
Fluids:
– Check fluid levels and top-up as required:
— Brake fluid
— Engine coolant/antifreeze
— Engine oil
— Power steering fluid
— Transmission fluid
— Windshield washer (check your wipers as well)
– See our video section below for how to check car fluid levels.
Air Filters:
– Check your engine air filter.
– Check your cabin air filter (refer to your car manual for access location).
– See our video section below for how to check the engine air filter.

It definitely means that you have some worn suspension parts, and that leads to uneven tire
wear as well as possible parts failure, and that can lead to an accident. Suspension is not just
for a comfortable ride, it ensures good contact between your tires and the road and provides
control while you’re driving.
Your suspension system involves many parts and they need to be checked regularly to maintain
a safe, and comfortable, ride. Be sure to let us know if you hear any noises from your car while
driving. Philo Auto will give you a smooth ride and reliable handling by maintaining your
vehicle’s suspension system

Absolutely, winter tires make a big difference in our Canadian winters. They provide far superior
traction in cold and slippery conditions. It’s not simply a matter of not getting stuck, but helping
you stay safe and avoid collisions.
Speak to us about choosing the right tires; some winter tires are best on snowy roads while
others are better with snow and icy conditions. Based on your driving needs and type of vehicle,
we can help you find the best tires, and a good deal!

An exhaust leak is not only noisy but it can cause carbon monoxide poisoning to you and your
passengers. It can also affect the engine efficiency. So it may not “harm the engine, but it might
be harming you and affecting your mileage.
If you’re a regular Philo customer you can breathe easy. Whenever your car is in for servicing,
we’ll check the exhaust and ensure it is working properly.

All vehicles require regular maintenance to be safe, reliable, and to run as efficiently as possible. Electric vehicles have fewer moving parts and are cheaper to maintain, but still need inspection and care (e.g. brakes, tires, suspension, etc.)

At Pilo Auto, we can maintain hybrid and electric vehicles.
